Terms of Service

1. Overview

HaninGosu ("Service") is an online directory and matching platform connecting Korean-American professionals with clients in the United States. The Service provides professional profile search, inquiry submission, and messaging features.

By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

2. Role and Limitations of the Service

HaninGosu is a platform that facilitates connections between professionals and clients. HaninGosu does not guarantee the quality, accuracy, legality, or outcomes of services provided by listed professionals.

Actual contracts, transactions, and service delivery occur directly between the professional and client. HaninGosu is not a party to such arrangements.

4. User Obligations

• You must provide accurate and truthful information.
• You must not impersonate others or register false information.
• You must not use the Service for spam, advertising, or malicious purposes.
• You must not engage in conduct that is offensive or harmful to other users.
• You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

5. Professional Obligations

• You must provide accurate qualifications, experience, and contact information in your profile.
• You must maintain valid licenses or certifications in your field.
• You must respond to client inquiries in good faith.
• You must not engage in false or misleading advertising through HaninGosu.
• You must comply with all applicable professional ethics and regulations.

6. Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials (email and password). You must notify HaninGosu immediately if you discover unauthorized use of your account. You must not share your account with others.

7. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Service, including logos, designs, text, and software, belong to HaninGosu or their respective owners. These may not be reproduced, distributed, or modified without prior written consent.

Professionals retain rights to content (photos, text, etc.) posted on their profiles, and grant HaninGosu a non-exclusive license to use such content for Service operation purposes.

8. Service Changes and Termination

HaninGosu may modify, suspend, or terminate all or part of the Service without prior notice. HaninGosu is not liable for any damages resulting from Service changes or termination.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HaninGosu shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from use of the Service.

HaninGosu's total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the user for the Service, if any.

10. Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, California.

These Terms are provided in Korean and English. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the two versions, the English version shall prevail.

11. Changes to Terms

HaninGosu may modify these Terms as necessary. For significant changes, we will notify you through in-Service announcements or your registered email. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you may discontinue use and delete your account.

12. Pricing and Plan Changes

HaninGosu may modify the following with prior notice to support ongoing service operations.

• Monthly subscription pricing by plan tier
• Features and limits included in each plan
• Availability and conditions of the free tier
• Promotions and discount offers

Changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance via email. Users who do not agree with the updated terms may cancel their service at any time.

13. Refund Policy

For new subscribers' first payment, the following refund policy applies.

• Paid directly without a trial — full refund within 14 days of the first payment.
• Paid after using a trial period — full refund within 7 days of the payment.

Common conditions

• New subscribers only (does not apply to re-subscriptions).
• First payment only (renewal payments are not refundable).

14. Attorney Advertising Disclaimer

Information about attorneys posted on HaninGosu is advertising. HaninGosu is not a lawyer referral service.

• The hiring of a lawyer is an important decision and should not be based solely on advertisements.
• An attorney's qualifications and experience can be verified directly with each state's Bar Association.
• HaninGosu makes no guarantees regarding an attorney's competence, ethics, or results.
• Use of HaninGosu does not establish an attorney-client relationship.

15. License Information Policy (Self-Reported Credentials)

All license information on HaninGosu is self-reported by the professional. HaninGosu does NOT verify:

• The authenticity of license numbers
• Registration with the issuing authority
• License status (active/suspended/revoked)
• Identity match between the user and the license holder

The "License Submitted" badge indicates only that the professional has submitted a license image. It does NOT mean the license has been verified or is valid.

Users are responsible for verifying license information directly:

• Attorneys: Each state's Bar Association
• CPAs: Each state's CPA Society or NASBA
• Real Estate: Each state's Real Estate Commission
• Medical: Each state's Medical Board

HaninGosu makes NO warranty regarding the accuracy, validity, or outcomes related to license information.

16. Account Deactivation and Termination

HaninGosu applies the following policies for user data protection and operational efficiency.

Accounts inactive for 12+ months

• For accounts with no activity for 12 or more months since last login, a notification will be sent to the registered email 30 days before deactivation.
• If no further activity occurs after notification, the account will be transitioned to inactive status.
• Inactive accounts are excluded from search results and will no longer receive messages.

Accounts inactive for 24+ months

• If an inactive account remains without activity for an additional 12 months, a final notification will be sent 30 days before the account and associated data may be deleted.
• Data recovery is not possible after deletion.

Maintaining active status

Users can maintain active status by logging in at any time. Logging in resets the inactivity and deletion timers.

Notification method

All advance notifications are sent to the email address registered at sign-up. Important account-related notifications may still be sent even if you have opted out of marketing emails.

17. Auto-Registration + Post-Hoc Review Policy

17.1 Expert registration is automatically approved.

17.2 HaninGosu does NOT verify submitted information at signup.

17.3 Post-hoc review and action will occur in the following cases:

• Reports from other users
• Discovery of clearly false information
• License verification failure
• Inappropriate behavior

17.4 When false information is discovered, the following applies:

• Immediate account suspension
• Deletion of all data
• Possible legal liability arising from the false information
• Re-registration prohibited

17.5 Users agree to 4 items including "accurate information + legal liability for false information" at signup.

19. Real Estate Listing Policy

HaninGosu's real estate listing feature is an advertising service for posting property information. HaninGosu is not a real estate broker or agent and is not involved in the brokerage, transaction, or contracting of any property.

• Users who post a listing must have the right to advertise that property (as the owner, or a professional authorized by the owner), and must not post a property they are not authorized to advertise.
• Listing information (price, size, condition, photos, etc.) is provided by the poster. HaninGosu does not verify or guarantee its accuracy or legality. Responsibility for verifying information rests with the poster and the user.
• Posters must comply with the U.S. Fair Housing Act and applicable state laws, and must not include discriminatory, preferential, or exclusionary statements based on protected characteristics such as race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status, or disability.
• Posting false or duplicate listings, properties the poster does not own or is not authorized to represent, or inaccurate prices/terms is prohibited.
• HaninGosu may unpublish or remove, without prior notice, listings that are reported or that violate this policy or applicable law.
• Actual transactions, contracts, and any defects or disputes regarding a property are between the parties; HaninGosu is not a party to them and bears no responsibility.

20. Job Posting Policy

HaninGosu's job posting feature is an advertising service for posting employment opportunities. HaninGosu is not an employment agency, headhunter, or party to any employment relationship, and is not involved in hiring, interviewing, or employment contracts.

• Users who post a job listing must have the right to post that opening (as the employer, or an authorized representative), and must not post a job they are not authorized to advertise.
• Job information (role, compensation, location, qualifications, etc.) is provided by the poster. HaninGosu does not verify or guarantee its accuracy or legality. Responsibility for verifying information rests with the poster and the applicant.
• Posters must comply with U.S. employment anti-discrimination laws — Title VII, ADEA, ADA, GINA, and applicable state EEO laws — and must not include discriminatory, preferential, or exclusionary statements based on protected characteristics such as race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or other protected categories.
• Posting false or duplicate job listings, jobs the poster is not authorized to fill, or inaccurate role/compensation/location information is prohibited.
• HaninGosu may unpublish or remove, without prior notice, postings that are reported or that violate this policy or applicable law.
• Actual hiring, interviews, employment contracts, wage payment, and any disputes are between the employer and applicant; HaninGosu is not a party to them and bears no responsibility.
